Can I bond fire retardant fibreglass to PVC?

Challenge:

A customer was having a problem bonding a piece of fire retardant fibreglass with a PVC insulation product used in the building trade. They had tried a number of competitor hot melt adhesives which had all failed to stick the materials securely together.

Solution:

We ran some tests in our Glue Lab and found the cause of the problem. The customer was having problems was because the adhesives they were using were failing to bond the loose fibres of the fire retardant material, causing the materials to become unstuck.

SOLVED: We used a Tec 6100 glue gun loaded withTecbond 267/43 adhesive and found that this stuck the materials firmly together without any problems.
