Unprecedented Weather Impacts Deliveries across the UK

Three days of adverse weather now means that by close of business today DPD expect to have around 25% of their current off-peak capacity impacted. This backlog will take up to 4 working days to clear.

DPD currently have 26 trailers held at their Carlisle depot containing parcels bound for Scotland. When the weather clears these will be dispatched to the Scottish depots. Trailers bound for Maidstone and Dartford depots have also been held at the Midlands hub

DPD Ireland has closed all operations due to the Red weather alert in place in Ireland. We do not expect a resumption of service in Ireland until Monday. Due to these and other major incidents listed below we have been forced to take
the following actions:

In all depots that are impacted we are currently unable to guarantee Premium Services (before 10:30, before noon) either Next Day or Weekend deliveries

Where possible DPD will be operating this weekend to start to clear the current parcel backlog. Clearly in areas that are currently affected such as Kent and Scotland DPD will therefore be unable to offer their Saturday and Sunday service, as DPD’s focus will now be to clear the existing backlog.

As of 12:00 today our network status is as follows:
Key:
Partial Operation means 10-15% of parcels affected
Limited Operation means 15 –40 % of parcels affected
Substantial Impact Operation over 40% of parcels affected
No operation means depot closed
