Description

PP3000 is a low energy structural adhesive for bonding polypropylene, polyethylene and other difficult to bond low surface energy materials and will bond similar or dissimilar substrates while offering excellent chemical, water and humidity resistance.

PP3000 is specifically developed for bonding structurally, low surface energy substrates like polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE) and other thermoplastic olefins (TPO), commonly known as polyolefins. Low surface energy plastics repel rather than attract adhesion and are notoriously difficult to bond with almost any kind of adhesive on account of their non-polar, non-porous and chemically inert surfaces. PP3000 will bond these surfaces without any special surface treatments.

The wide use of polyethylene plastics as well as their co-polymers has increased interest in adhesives bonding of these materials. Low surface energy plastics are used increasingly being specified by design engineers seeking to use low surface energy materials in production.

PP3000 is increasingly being specified by design engineers seeking to use low surface energy materials in production. PP3000 has been optimised to reliably solve what is traditionally a complex bonding issue.

Features

Bonds similar substrates

No Pre-surface treatments or primers

Non flammable & low odour formulation

Room temperature cure

Solvent free with no volatiles

Good chemical water and humidity resistance

Easy to use and dispense.

Substrates PE, PP, ABS, PVC TPO Thermoplastic Olefins Polycarbonate Steel and Aluminium

Appearance

PP3000 is usually off white and smooth once mixed and dispensed. However, in the curing process the reaction of the material causes a rippling/foaming appearance on the surface outside of the bond line which is normal and indicates it is chemically reactive and correctly mixed.

Storage Conditions

Store product in the unopened cartridge in a dry location out of direct sunlight. Ideal temperature 5 – 8°C , Properties are affected outside of this range. Shelf life of the product is 6 months from the date of manufacture.
