Glue Stick FAQs
Which Glue Sticks can bond metal to metal?
A variety of Glue Sticks can bond metal to metal. The Glue Stick you need depends on the type of metal. Tecbond 248 is an Acrylic-based glue. It offers strong adhesion suited to a variety of difficult materials - including stainless steel and chrome. Tecbond 261 and Tecbond 240 are both EVA-based Glue Sticks offering a flexible but durable bond. They're ideal for gluing lighter metals like aluminium.
Which Glue Sticks will bond plastic to ceramic?
We have a selection of Glue Sticks that will bond plastic to ceramic. The ideal formulation depends on the type of plastic you're trying to bond. Tecbond 261 and Tecbond 248 offer flexible but durable bonds. They're ideal for gluing ceramic to plastics like acrylic, PVC, polycarbonate, polyethylene, and nylon. Tecbond 1942 is a more aggressive glue, offering a strong bond between ceramic and more robust plastics like ABS and fibreglass. Polypropylene - usually difficult to bond - can be glued to ceramic using Tecbond 267.
Which Glue Stick is best for arts and crafts?
We stock a range of Glue Sticks great for arts and crafts. Tecbond 132 is a general purpose adhesive suitable for use on a variety of materials. It's clear in colour and melts at a high viscosity - meaning it works well on porous surfaces like foam and fabric. For an even clearer output, we'd recommend the Tecbond 239. It's great for a range of materials including wood, paper, fabric, and foam.
